Adult Instruction & Mentoring Programs

The Callie Curling Club offers an instruction-supported social curling league for people of all ages and experience. The league typically runs from late October to late March on Sundays between 1pm - 3pm, though new members and walk ons are always welcome to join any time during the season. The Callie provides free rental of sliders and brooms for league members.

The league provides a fun, non-competitive environment for learning. Participants are given the option to play at any team position throughout the season to experience the various aspects of team development. Instructors will be available throughout the season for members who want additional lessons on individual skills (including rock delivery, sweeping technique, etc.), and to answer any questions and provide insights on basic game strategy and rules.

The league is also a spring board for integration into mainstream league curling. Arranging opportunities to spare for other teams and for mentored games against regular league teams, this allows participants of this league, to meet other curlers, socialize and gain experience.

Experienced curlers from all Regina curling clubs are encouraged to participate in this league as mentors. We have found the league members enthusiasm infectious. Mentors assist league curlers get acquainted with common courtesies, roles and responsibilities of players in regular leagues through practice games. Practice games allow clubs to have games played that other wise would be canceled when one team is unable to field a team. These are currently offered by the Callie Club in association with this league at no additional cost. The league after 2 seasons is looking forward to expand this offer to include all Regina curling clubs.
